Michael Charles

Michael Charles | Solo Eb Horn
Michael came to Nova Scotia in 1984 as a professional engineer, where he returned to playing the cornet with Chester Brass after 6 years. He was encouraged to join the band by his first employer, who had both a tuba and trombone player in the band. Since then, he has changed instruments and now plays the tenor horn and occupies the Solo Horn chair.
Before moving to Nova Scotia, Michael played in school bands and the Scarborough Symphony. Michael also plays the banjo with other members of the Chester Brass Band in a classical dixieland band. The group has performed in a variety of venues across Nova Scotia since 2006.
