Paul St.Amand

Paul St-Amand | Flugelhorn

Originally from Bedford, Nova Scotia, Paul took up the trumpet at age 11. As a student, he played with several internationally-decorated concert bands and jazz ensembles. At 16, he enjoyed his first stint with the Chester Brass Band on 3rd cornet.

While in university, Paul continued to perform as a soloist at weddings and special events. He rejoined Chester Brass in 2010 at solo cornet, moving to the flugelhorn chair in 2011. Paul is the third St-Amand to play in the Chester Brass Band, having been preceded by his uncle and elder brother.

Paul is a founding member of the Bedford Brass Quintet, and performs on trumpet with the Sackville Community Band. He has also performed with the Acadia University Wind Ensemble and Brass Impact.

An award-winning filmmaker and alumnus of Vancouver Film School, Paul runs a web and broadcast video production company called Ketchup Films.
