Rod MacGillvray

A performer, teacher and conductor from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Rod began playing Euphonium at age 11. He later added bass trombone, tenor trombone, tuba, and piano to his repertoire. Rod earned a Bachelor of Music from Mount Allison University, a Masters degree from Temple University, and a DMA in trombone performance from Ohio State University. Matthew Himmelman

Matthew Himmelman

Raised near Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Matthew began playing trumpet at age 11. He played trumpet and euphonium in various school band ensembles throughout his student life, and began playing third cornet with Chester Brass in 1999, after being introduced to the band by a past member offering sectional tutorials at his school. When the opportunity arose in 2008, Matthew moved to the foundation of the band where he currently plays BBb bass.
