Payson Rowell
Payson resumed playing trombone upon retirement from a career with the YMCA, having enjoyed the instrument throughout public school and his university years. Payson commutes from Moncton, New Brunswick from fall through spring for rehearsals. He resides in Fox Point near Hubbards, where he has family roots, from mid-June through mid-October. Payson is also a member of Greater Moncton’s Codiac Concert Band/Harmonie Codiac.

A performer, teacher and conductor from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Rod began playing Euphonium at age 11. He later added bass trombone, tenor trombone, tuba, and piano to his repertoire. Rod earned a Bachelor of Music from Mount Allison University, a Masters degree from Temple University, and a DMA in trombone performance from Ohio State University.
